Work with children from birth through third grade. Subject areas taught include introductory mathematics, language, science, and social studies.
Work with deaf and hard of hearing students in P-12 public or residential schools.
Provides professional knowledge, skills, and experiences to become highly effective K-9 classroom teachers and informed curriculum and instruction decision makers.
Teach K-12 students with learning, emotional, and intellectual disabilities; students with orthopedic impairments, autism spectrum disorders, multiple disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries.
Develop cultural and linguistic competencies to teach Spanish-speaking English Language Learners (ELLs) in K-9 classrooms.
Work with students age 3-21 who have a visual impairment. Graduates work in public schools, residential centers as classroom, resource, or as itinerant teachers.
Combine the more structured content of secondary education for grades 5-8 with a child-centered approach to elementary education.
