Assistant Dean for Educational Technology

Responsibilities and duties:

·          Oversees development and implementation of the college-wide educational technology plan that grows out of the mission, vision, and objectives of the COE Five-Year Plan

·          Chairs the COE Faculty Technology Planning Committee

·          Assists COE faculty members in developing online, hybrid, and Web-enhanced courses

·          Collaborates with the Campus Technology Support Group (CTSG) to evaluate, select and adopt technology products, practices, and policies related to educational technology

·          Assists in creating and maintaining assessment criteria for evaluation of instruction and online course delivery outcomes

·          Recommends and implements new educational technology initiatives (i.e., technology certificate for undergraduate teacher education candidates, formal recognition for outstanding use of technology by faculty, etc.)

·          Evaluates, recommends, and coordinates the purchase of new and replacement technologies for use in the COE

·          Visits PK-12 partner schools and peer colleges and schools of education to help recommend data-driven decisions regarding the use of educational technology in the COE, and to recommend best practices and policies to those partners

·          Supervises the COE Technology Team support staff

·          Engages in instructional duties in the COE as needed

·          Represent the college on the campus academic affairs facilities committee

·          Other duties as assigned by the Dean
