College of Education students have ample opportunities to be involved in professional organizations. Students are encouraged to become actively involved in student and professional organizations to learn more about the field; develop strong communication and leadership skills; and network with students, faculty, and professionals.

American Education Research Association (AERA)

Strives to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.

Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE)

ACTE is committed to enhancing the job performance and satisfaction of its members; to increasing public awareness and appreciation for career and technical programs; and to assuring growth in local, state and federal funding for these programs by communicating and working with legislators and government leaders.

Association for Childhood Education, International (ACEI)

ACEI is a global community of educators and advocates who unite knowledge, experience, and perspectives in order to exchange information, explore innovation and advocate for children.

Association of Illinois School Library Educators (AISLE)

To promote life-long learning by the students of Illinois, AISLE will provide leadership and support for the development, promotion, and improvement of the school library media profession and programs in Illinois.

The Association of Teacher Educators (ATE)

The Association of Teacher Educators was founded in 1920 and is an individual membership organization devoted solely to the improvement of teacher education both for school-based and post secondary teacher educators.

Association of Middle Level Education (AMLE)

The Association for Middle Level Education is the leading national and international organization advancing the education of all students ages 10 to 15, helping them succeed as learners and make positive contributions to their communities and to the world.
