Elizabeth RothkopfBirth through Third Grade Consultant
|
Elizabeth Rothkopf is a Birth through Third Grade Consultant to the Center for the Study of Education Policy at Illinois State University. The Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development and the Illinois State Board of Education partnered with CSEP to manage the Birth through Third Grade Continuity Project. Ms. Rothkopf has worked over four years for Educare Chicago, an early childhood program on Chicago’s south side. She supported their early math initiative and the launch and implementation of the Birth-to-College Collaborative. This was an ambitious undertaking in which Educare Chicago and UChicago Charter Schools moved to align their birth through third grade (B3) systems, supports and practices in the areas of: admissions, curriculum, standards, assessments, transitions, family engagement practices, and professional development of their staff. The results of this work are documented in an online toolkit and led to the development of an annual district leadership summit for educators working on B3 continuity as a means of improving outcomes for their students. Ms. Rothkopf received her Master’s of International Affairs in Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University of New York.
