This program prepares deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visual impairment teachers to meet the unique needs of infants and toddlers with sensory disabilities and their families. Our coursework is interdisciplinary. You will work with graduate students in speech-language pathology as well as experts in deaf education, low vision/blindness, and speech-language pathology. After completing the program, you'll be eligible for the State of Illinois Early Intervention (EI) credential. This allows you to serve as a Developmental Therapist (Vision or Hearing). You'll also have expertise in family-centered interdisciplinary early intervention. Courses occur online during the first summer (2022) and the academic year. During the final summer (2023), courses are online and face-to-face. Face-to-face classes meet at ISU and at a location in northern Illinois.
