The local and global realities have shifted since the beginning of 2020 when Coronavirus (COVID-19) began to have major impacts upon the world. The nature of this pandemic and its impact on education cannot be overstated. From altering plans to modalities, education has been at the core of many of these shifts. In order to understand and learn from these changes, Planning and Changing is launching a special guest edited issue.
This issue requests your submissions engaging the changes and planning necessary to attend to the pandemic at the intersection of education. We are interested in multiple modalities of research output (empirical, theoretical, reflective) or paradigm (qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods) pieces that engage in education at all levels. Moreover, we are interested in global perspectives. We welcome papers that address this topic from a wide array of disciplinary perspectives that address this issue, such as global and local challenges and differences to response, outreach within and beyond the educational community, the impact of working from home on educators, the forces in decision making, and more.
The special issue guest editors will review submitted proposals and extend invitations to selected authors to submit full manuscripts for peer review. Acceptance of a proposal does not guarantee the publication. Final decisions will be made after the review of full papers through the journal’s submission system.
The review process for manuscripts will be organized through the journal’s standard review procedure. Papers will be reviewed by the blind referees. The guest editors will make the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations. Prior to the full paper submission, please refer to the instructions for the special issue submission on the journal website.
