The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) allows certain ACT and SAT scores to be substituted for the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP)/Basic Skills test required for licensure. See test requirements below.
1. Set Up an ELIS account with the ISBE. Identify your IEIN (Illinois Educator Identification Number) from your ELIS account. Save your IEIN, your login and your password for future use.
*If using the TAP test, scores will be automatically sent to ISBE and you should confirm your scores in your ELIS account. If you choose ISU as a score recipient, your milestone will be updated from your passing the TAP scores that were received.
