The Test of Academic Proficiency covers reading comprehension, language arts (grammar and writing), mathematics, and a constructed-response writing assignment.
Register early. Seating is limited.
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) allows certain ACT and SAT scores to be substituted for the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP)/Basic Skills test required for licensure. See test requirements below.
1. Set Up an ELIS account with the ISBE. Identify your IEIN (Illinois Educator Identification Number) from your ELIS account. Save your IEIN, your login and your password for future use.
