How much does the program cost?
The TPI U-46 Program covers the tuition of all Illinois State University coursework, as well as the cost of program workshops and Illinois State University course materials. There will be minimal additional costs, such as Illinois Board of Education tests, and other miscellaneous fees. All program participants must complete the program and the three year commitment following certification or repay the stipend.
Do I need to have access to the Internet?
Yes. You will need to be able to access the Internet regularly for a variety of assignments and for communication.
Do I have to travel far to take classes?
No. All classes will be offered at the U-46 Educational Services Center in Elgin. Additional supplemental support training or workshops may require travel.
Am I guaranteed a job in my current school?
You are not guaranteed a job at your current school. You will be able to apply for a position at your school and within your school district, but if there are no openings you will have to find a position in another high-needs school district.
