Virtual Nest
Illinois State's Virtual Nest utilizes
Mursion technology is housed in the
College of Education. The software virtual training environments where Redbirds can rehearse and master the essential interpersonal skills required to be effective in high-stakes careers in sales, education, human resources, the medical field, and more. Students participate in immersive learning that simulates realistic scenarios and environments that give them the opportunity to practice new skills. This type of learning has been shown to be among the most effective for training adults and serves as a bridge between formal training and real-world experience. Currently, Mursion is used by more than 75 universities and school districts.

How to use Virtual Nest
- Email VirtualNest@IllinoisState.edu to request a planning meeting. In this meeting, we will review your desired learning objectives and begin to customize your immersive learning environment. Planning meetings must take place at least two weeks before the desired date/time of your simulation.
- Schedule a date, time, and space (if necessary) for your Virtual Nest simulation.
- Execute simulation.
- Virtual Nest staff will provide you with performance and simulation reliability assessments.
