Academic Senate

To be eligible to serve as a member of the Academic Senate, nominees must have been employed as tenured/tenure-track faculty members at the University with one full academic term prior to their election. A member of the faculty who has an administrative appointment, other than as a department chairperson or head, is not eligible for election to the Academic Senate. Only full-time faculty with the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor are eligible to vote in Senate Elections. The term of service for each faculty representative is three years unless otherwise noted; the end of each representative's current term is noted in parentheses. The Academic Senate meets on Wednesday evenings.

Council for Teacher Education

Responsible for developing requirements for teacher education and for providing avenues of communication among all areas of the University concerned with teacher education.

As a subcommittee of Academic Senate, Formulates and at five-year intervals or on an as-needed basis, revises the Illinois State University Faculty Appointment, Salary, Promotion, and Tenure Policies.

College Faculty Status Committee

Reviews the College of Education's policies and procedures for appointment, reappointment, performance, evaluation, promotion, tenure, and post-tenure reviews to ensure conformity to college standards and university policies and procedures. Complete duties and responsibilities of the College Faculty Status Committee (CFSC) are explained in the Illinois State University Faculty Appointment, Salary, Promotion and Tenure Policies. Membership, eligibility, election and term, and procedures for temporary vacancies will be found in the College of Education Faculty Appointment, Salary, Promotion, and Tenure policy.
