Post Master’s Certificate: Leading to Superintendent Endorsement
The endorsement program requires at least 36 hours of coursework in a required sequence. Courses are offered nights and weekends to accommodate schedules of full-time educational professionals. Some online options exist for select courses. Courses that count towards a Chief School Business Official Endorsement are noted with (*CSBO).
Superintendent endorsement students are encouraged to also obtain the CSBO endorsement during coursework. There are three additional courses required in order to obtain the CSBO endorsement. Those classes are EAF 575, EAF 579 and EAF 596.

- EAF 525: Cultural Comparative Education
- EAF 548: Advanced Seminar on Legal Basis of Education (*S)
- EAF 576 Administration of Instructional Programs (*S)
- EAF 583 Seminar in Educational Leadership
- EAF 584: Superintendent and Central Staff (*CSBO)
- EAF 585: Management of Educational Funds (*S)
- EAF 586: Administration of Human Resources (*S)
- EAF 587: Community Relations Seminar (*S)
- EAF 598: Professional Practice (must have completed 15 credit hours before you can enroll); more information provided upon entry into the program
- Take Illinois License Examand have scores sent to ISU
- EAF 598: Professional Practice (enroll this second time after passing Illinois Licensure Testing System and completing 30 credit hours)
Technology Requirements
To successfully complete Educational Administration and Foundations courses, students in all programs are expected to have frequent and convenient access to a computer and Internet resources. Review the EAF technology requirements.
Completion Information
Within the first 2 weeks of the semester that you plan to graduate:
- Follow instructions on the Educator Licensure page.
- Follow instructions on the Graduation Procedures page.
- Program contact fills out the Degree Audit from the Graduate School and sends it to the Department Chair, who will complete and forward to the Graduate School.
