Tutoring Programs

The Borg Center offers tutoring for students in Grades 1-8 who would benefit from additional, targeted support in reading and writing. Our tutoring is grounded in the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan and emphasizes both academic growth and the development of confident, joyful reading and writing identities.

Tutors are trained to conduct assessments and use those insights to design individualized instruction. Each session includes direct teaching of reading and writing knowledge and skills, as well as opportunities for students to apply what they’re learning through meaningful reading and writing activities.

Summer 2025 Tutoring

Our summer program will run for five weeks beginning on Monday, July 7, 2025, and ending on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Students will meet with their tutor twice per week, for a total of 10 sessions. You can indicate on the registration form which days/times work best for your family.

Program Structure

The Borg Center offers Fall, Spring, and Summer tutoring program, each consisting of 10 tutoring sessions:

• Fall and Spring Programs: Students attend once weekly over 10 weeks (with an option to attend twice weekly for 20 sessions).
• Summer Program: Students attend twice weekly over five weeks.

Families indicate their preferred days and times on the registration form.

Tutoring Options and Fees

Individualized One-to-One Tutoring: Your child is matched with a tutor for individualized support tailored to their needs.	$275 if paid in full at the time of schedule confirmation $300 if paid in two installments (Fall/Spring only)
Personalized Paired Tutoring: Your child is paired with one other student and matched with a tutor for small group instruction. Paired tutoring is not guaranteed and is subject to availability. Placement depends on your child’s needs as identified in the enrollment form and the availability of an appropriate match.	$150 full payment due at the time of schedule confirmation
High Impact Tutoring with Orton-Gillingham Trained Tutor: Your child will work with a highly experienced tutor trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach.	$450 paid in full at time of schedule confirmation $475 if paid in two installments (Fall/Spring only)

*Fees are doubled for students attending tutoring twice per week in Fall/Spring programs. *Tutoring payments are non-refundalbe.
