Tutoring at the Borg Center for Reading and Literacy is designed to support and revalue learners in all grades who experience difficulty with reading. Our tutors conduct assessments and design individualized instructional plans for each tutoring session. We provide direct instruction on literacy skills with plenty of time to apply new skills in authentic reading and writing contexts using materials connected to grade level curriculum.
We will be offering a 12-week virtual tutoring block in the spring semester beginning the week of January 18th, 2021 and ending the week of April 12th, 2021, with the exception of the week of March 8th which is spring break at ISU. Participants attend one 60-minute session per week on M, T, W, or TH. Participants must have internet access. We use Zoom as our virtual learning space.
The cost to participate in our spring virtual tutoring block is $240.00.
If you have questions or are interested in registering your child for virtual tutoring, please email the Center at literacycenter@ilstu.edu , or contact Dr. Deborah MacPhee at (309) 438-3836 to check our availability.
