  • Teacher Advocacy

    Educators learn approaches for advocating in response to Illinois EDIA education policies for and with their students, colleagues, and selves.

  • Culturally Responsive Teaching

    Educators will engage in self-examination to address personal biases and microaggressions, and will learn about how to use cultural humility, critical inquiry, and critical self-care to engage EDIA in their classrooms and with the school communities.

  • Professional Learning

    Invites educators to explore opportunities to ensure that they stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and trends.

  • Constructive Criticism

    Addresses productive ways to receive feedback from instructors and to offer feedback to their students. Includes information about how the nervous system responds to feedback and offers strategies for managing strong emotions that arise with academic feedback.

  • Organization

    Supports educators in developing an organizational approach for lesson plans and materials; encourages and promotes flexibility as an organizational mindset to planning; explores the importance and reasons for punctuality and attendance, and prepares educators with the tools to meet deadlines and obligations, and to engage effective communication.     Learn about how to find your content test, where to register, and where to find information for how to study for your content test, including how to access practice tests when they are available for your content area. September 19th

  • Time Management and Study Skills

    Create a study plan that fits with your unique style and schedule.    September 26th

  • Reading the Test Questions

    Learn strategies for deconstructing the test questions. October 10th     

  • Test Taking Anxiety

    Understand how the body responds to stress and learn practices for managing the anxiety that is evoked in high stress situations.     October 17th

  • Vocabulary

    Learn about how to strategically use and study vocabulary on the test. October 3rd
