Cohort programs

In addition to the traditional on-campus schedule, the Department has several cohort options, offering students the opportunity to take classes with others who have a prescribed plan of study over the course of the program. The admissions requirements are the same for both the traditional and cohort options within each concentration.

Off-Campus Cohorts (not currently accepting applications)

• Class schedule: Two (2) classes delivered on Wednesdays beginning at 4 p.m. 
• Superintendent Endorsement courses are built into the doctoral program.
• Eligibility: P-12 professionals with Type 75 Endorsement and two years leadership at the building, district, or support organizations (ROEs, ISBE, Service Centers, etc.).

Fall 2023 on-campus cohorts (applications now being accepted)

• Class schedule: Two (2) classes delivered on Fridays (3-9PM) and Saturdays (9AM-3PM) 4 times per semester. Attendance is required at Illinois State University.
• Superintendent Endorsement courses are built into the doctoral program.
• Eligibility: P-12 professionals with Type 75 Endorsement and two years leadership at their building, district, or support organizations (ROEs, ISBE, Service Centers, etc.).
