Jolyne Custer
Tutor
Jolyne Custer uses she/her pronouns and is pursuing a degree in English Education. Jolyne likes to read, write, draw, and play video games in her free time. Jolyne is passionate about building literacy skills and supporting students in their journey to becoming great readers and writers. When she is not at the Borg Center, you can find her spending time with family, playing with her dog Caina, calling her friends, or curled up with a good book!

Hana Knuffman
Tutor
Hana Knuffman is a sophomore at ISU. She is an Elementary Education major while also working towards a Reading Endorsement. She has been a tutor for the Mary and Jean Borg Center for Reading and Literacy since the Fall 2023 tutoring cycle.

Michelle Martinez
High-Impact Tutor
Michelle Martinez teaches undergraduate courses in literacy at Illinois State University in addition to tutoring in the Borg Center. She is the High Impact/OG tutor for the literacy tutoring program in the Mary and Jean Borg Center for Reading and Literacy. She completed both the comprehensive and intermediate levels of Orton-Gillingham training. She uses this training plus her 30 years of classroom experience in her work with students. Outside of school and work, Michelle loves spending time with her husband and three children, as well as developing her other teacher business endeavors.

Ayesha Siddiqua
Graduate Assistant
Ayesha Siddiqua is an international student pursuing a Doctor of Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Illinois State University. As a graduate assistant in the Borg Student Center, Passionate about education and cultural exchange, She is committed to fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments. Her research interests include multicultural education, technology, literacy, equity, and access.

Wanda Turk
Tutoring Coordinator
Wanda Turk is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree at Illinois State University. Her research interests include literacy acquisition and early childhood literacy practices. She is currently working on a dissertation focused on the literacy tutoring program in the Mary and Jean Borg Center for Reading and Literacy and works in the center as the tutoring coordinator and a K-8 literacy tutor. Outside of school and work, Wanda enjoys traveling with her son, Nigel, and his wife, Michelle, taking care of her home, and spoiling her rescue pets.
